What dose General Powell's endorsement meant to the race
Do you think that General Powell’s endorsement is going to change any voters minds and if you so how? here is what’s funny that some media is asking is this a simple case of a African American male voting for another or is it to distance him self from the bush Presidency and it policies and track record ?

The State of the Race
The State of the Race
The state of this Presidential race is getting very ugly. Not just with the statements and commits made be the pundits. But by the parties, the sorgates and media, also by the people. We are much better than this as Americans. We have come along way in this country. America has been though some of the most hated, Vial and Racial times any country would like to be associated with. Though this America has come to understand, tolerate and respect the value of freedom, along with Human and Civil Rights for all of us to enjoy. Now we have a historical race for the White House, This time with both parties’ having a woman in the race. The Democrats having there 1st women on a major party, that came so close to getting the nod (Thanks Sen. Hillary R. Clinton).
The GOP picking Gov. Sarah Palin as the 1st female to be place as Vice President on there ticket. And of course there is Sen. Brack Obama the1st African American to clinch a major party nomination for the office of President of the United States.
(Thanks Fredrick Douglas for being the 1st to run for Vice President 1872' with Victoria C. Woodhull as presidential canadate).
Think a white woman as the President and an African American and former slave as her choice for Vice President, fast forward; now its 136 yrs. later and it may finally happened. An African American Male & a White Male as President and Vice President.
We have to change this Racism, Hatred, Ignorance and Lack of tolerance for differences. We can not, some how let race decide the most life changing decision we may ever make in our life time. Here is a quote from a man that gave the ultimate price for us to dream this dream showing that we can all make the dream come true.
"It's a duty to be both responsible citizens and conscientious stewards of freedom and democracy." Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Also here is a short list of those that have work on that dream that “we are all created equal and hold these truths to be self evident”. We can never forget that!
Barack Obama, Shirley Chisholm, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Alan Keyes, Carol Moseley Braun, and Lenora Fulani are African Americans who have run for President of United States of America
Hillary Clinton in her 2008 run for the Democratic nomination for President of United States of America was the closest so far that any woman has come to winning the nomination of a major political party in the United States. But Clinton is not the first woman to run for President of United States of America, and not even the first to run for a major party's nomination. Here's a list of the female presidential candidates, I've been able to discover, arranged chronologically by each woman's first campaign for the office.
Victoria Woodhull :Equal Rights Party: 1872, 1892
Belva Lockwood National Equal Rights Party: 1884, 1888
Grace Allen: Surprise Party: 1940
Margaret Chase Smith :Republican Party: 1964
Charlene Mitchell :Communist Party: 1968
Shirley Chisholm :Democratic Party: 1972
Patsy Takemoto Mink: Democratic Party: 1972
Abzug :Democratic Party: 1972
Linda Osteen Jenness : Socialist Workers Party: 1972
Evelyn Reed :Socialist Workers Party: 1972
Tell us what you think and thanks to all those that have been mentioned and not mentioned it has taken us all to get here.

what do you think of the commits made by Don Imus
During an on-air conversation Monday about the arrests of suspended Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam Jones, Imus asked, "What color is he?"
Told by sports announcer Warner Wolf that Jones, who used to be nicknamed Pacman, is "African-American," Imus responded: "There you go. Now we know."

is Hillary pushing her wasy on to the ticket?
Should Hillary Clinton bow out or is it a wild thought that she will try to push her way on to the Obama ticket and sour the entire process ?
who defines culture?
What is "urban?"
What is "culture?"
What is "urban culture?"
WORDS MUST BE EXAMINED, FOR AS IN ALICE IN WONDERLAND:
A CAT: "It's important to know the meanings of words."
ALICE: "Yes, but it's more important who controls the meanings of words."
Therefore:
Who came up with the label?
Who defines who fit into the label (definition)?
If your nemesis (enemy) names you (the definition),
Then who controls you? (Naming is the first act of domination.)
How does the definition influence one's concept of self and, therefore, one's behavior?
What is the perceived behavior of those who fit that label?
What part of society sees themselves, or wants to be seen, as part of that label?
Are you sure that label is accurate? But, which came first: the label, or the behavior(s)?
If the label came first, is this "social engineering?"
What are the reasons (benefits) for a nemesis (enemy) to name (define) you and for you to ascribe to fit into his or there definition?
If a definition has been accepted, are there things that can be done to make that ulterior act a positive force in the universe?
This last statement is, possibly, the raison d'etre for the blog
.
IMPORTANCE OF CULTURE
One's culture permeates the totality of one's thoughts, words and deeds. Urban culture is defined as the elements within the African/Black "beingness" as they relate to expressions of artistic, athletic or scientific performance.
The culture of Afro-descendants (whether called Blacks, Nigritians, Jamaicans, Africans, etc.) in general is noteworthy for its creativity, excellence and joy. CREATIVITY is evidenced by the ever-present delight in doing things just a little differently from the other. This creativity is in constant communion with the spiritual as the athlete's or the performer's focus is on seeing something unique and beautiful in one's expressive endeavors.
EXCELLENCE is evidenced by the awesome respect accorded those who "take it to another level." It cannot get to "another level" if the effort is not imbued with higher achievement--excellence.
JOY comes from the soul and, by definition, radiates the best of one's desires to share happiness, compassion and fun.
The purpose of this Blog is to imbue expressions of Urban Culture (music, dance, athleticism and/or performance) with social consciousness and love as instruments to bring forth a "new world" of hope, peace, justice and prosperity

54 years later have we finally got it or are we faking it
Yesterday marked the 54th anniversary of the landmark decision of the Supreme Court, Brown vs. Board of Education.
Handed down on May 17, 1954, the unanimous decision (9-0) found that the segregation of white and black children in the public schools solely on the basis of race denies black children the equal protection of the laws guaranteed by the Fourteenth Amendment. Brown vs. Board of Education dismantled the legal basis for racial segregation in schools and other public facilities.
This significant case overruled the historic 1896 Plessy v. Ferguson decision that upheld racial segregation and set the precedent of separate but equal.
The Brown vs. Board of Education victory paved the way for the civil rights movement, and set the stage for Dr. King and future civil rights leaders.
are we doing better with equal education or just still trying to figure this out?
